Introducing: TEC LiquiDam EZ™
With the majority of flooring being installed on grade over concrete slabs, moisture problems can spell headaches for the homeowner months or even years down the road. Moisture testing is an important step that can tell you whether you have a moisture problem right now, but installing a moisture barrier that can handle 100% RH is often your cheapest insurance against future moisture problems.
Which product do I need? Moisture mitigation or Waterproofing?
It’s critical to understand the difference between moisture mitigation and waterproofing, as the products that offer solutions to these moisture-related problems handle two vastly different issues. Moisture mitigation stops or slows moisture vapor from beneath the floor, while waterproofing protects your subfloor and walls from wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens where water can seep through grout joints.
One of our newest solutions for moisture mitigation is LiquiDam EZ™ from TEC. LiquiDam EZ™ is an innovative one-part moisture vapor barrier that offers an easier alternative over traditional epoxy-based remedies, designed to reduce the MVER from 25 lbs. to 3 lbs. per 1,000 ft2 per 24 hours. Two coats are required to fully seal the substrate; and it quickly dries in 3-4 hours.
